About Friends of Bitter Lake

The Friends of Bitter Lake NWR, is a non-profit organization that is organized to support ongoing efforts in the preservation of Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

To promote appreciation and conservation of the wildlife habitat through environmental education and natural history experiences. We have some great resources on our site for you, including Visitor Information, Hiking Trails, Bird Lists, Nature Store Hours, and Events. 

The Visitor Center is open Monday through
Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Refuge is open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk.
